Big Mood Week
Close to this time last year, we gathered 28 women from the snowboard industry at the Bataleon lodge in Flachauwinkl Austria to showcase that snowboarding is not just a male-dominated industry. Our group consisted of media professionals, team riders, photographers and Bataleon's in-house women employees; all brought together to break stereotypes in the industry. We spent an incredible seven days together, riding, engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing personal projects and most importantly, having a good time.
Initially intended as a “girls week,” the concept quickly evolved into the “big mood week”. This was probably because of the huge hype of the girls with our newest model, the Moodboard and its beautiful graphics. It was amazing to be on the chair lift and see a bunch of women, dressed in a poppy yellow sweater matching with their board. The connection between them was palpable, as they consistently supported and motivated each other. The bonds we formed during the week went beyond expectations, leaving us looking forward for this year.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the collaboration with the talented Glitter Studio girls - Jana and Caitlin. As an interdisciplinary graphic design duo, they joined forces in 2014, approaching projects with their signature energy, concept-driven mindset, and playful aesthetic. Working alongside them to create the Moodboard was an incredible experience, resulting in a visually stunning masterpiece that perfectly captured the essence of both sides.
Looking back, our time together last year was not only a celebration of women’s involvement in snowboarding but also a testament to the power of collaboration and shared passion. As we get closer to this years Big Mood Week, we anticipate even more remarkable experiences, connections, and achievements in the snowboard industry.
