Pow

What’s this board’s natural home? Full send in the park? Elbows down on the trails? Or chucking roosters somewhere off grid?

Flex

6.0

Softer snowboards are easier to press and won’t kick your ass if you make a mistake. Stiffer decks are more stable at speed and super responsive edge-to-edge. Choose your poison.

Float Ratio

73

Maximum volume for surfy vibes in the pow, or a smaller surface area for nimble freestyle performance. This number is calculated with length, width, 3D shape and surface distribution.

Outline Shape

Directional

On our more freeride orientated boards the center base is at its most narrow and the uplift is at its highest this creates unparalleled float in pow super fast edge-to-edge transitioning.

Nose Sidebase Uplift

High

The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. most effected are the edge to edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.

Tail Sidebase Uplift

Medium

The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology making our boards more versatile then others.

Camber Profile

High Camber

Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber make for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. higher is not always better...

3D Shape

3BT™ + Sidekick™

Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.

Layup & Laminate

Tri-Ax
Lamination

Our three-way fiberglass weave is light, strong and crazy responsive. We use this to beef up the flex pattern on our more aggressive boards.

Woodcore

Light
Core

50/50 Paulownia and poplar creates a balanced core that’s lively yet strong.

Special Sauce

D.S.T.
Super Tubes

Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board enhances pop and gives the camber more snap.

Base

Ultra
Glide S

A premium, 7000-grade sintered base reserved for our high-end models. Packing more molecules into the P-tex means it’s super tough and hauls ass.

Layup & Laminate

Carbon
Stringers

Our tried and tested carbon layups. We deploy them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.

Inserts

+2 Backseat
Inserts

Backseat inserts are an set of extra inserts 4cm behind the bottom inserts. This allows you to set your bindings all the way back, so you can keep floating on those deep pow days. By shifting your weight more back on the board the nose stays up and the pressure on you back leg is reduced.

Topsheet 3D

Step Down Rails
Top 3D

This topsheet 3D effect features a slight taper of the deck along the top of the sidewall. This reduces the top-profile, saving weight and adding more precision to your carves.

Sidewalls

Solid Walls
Sidewall

We use tried and trusted ABS sidewalls for most of the collection. For the best flex to strength ratio.

Base

Flip
Flop Base

Die-cut bases are like a jigsaw. Flip Flop minimizes waste by using two or more color options for each piece. That means more unique graphics and less environmental harm.

At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the boards desired riding style.

SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.

Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight and greatly increase pop. By varying their location we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.

Thunder Review

I've had this board for 5 or 6 riding sessions now and all I can say is I'm amazed by this thing. The board just floats on top of power making catching an edge almost non existent. Super happy with this board and would highly recommend .

Amazing snowboard

About 15 years I ride with Ride Prophet. I thought that it was good board. But when I bought this, I was pleasantly surprised. It has very goof control and stability. Every time I made very oblique turn, I thought it will slip out, but it holder me all times. I wanted to make slip purposely, but it didn't happen. I am very excited about this board. Recommend 100%. I have wide version.

Board came damaged

Ordered the thunder, and it arrived damaged. No protective packing other than Seran wrap around the board and some paper. Now they won’t replace it because they’ve run out of the 22 thunder. So now they are only offering me the 21 thunder for the same price I paid for the 22. Or they are willing to send me the 23 version but are saying I will have to pay the difference, which is absurd because they’re the reason I don’t have the board I ordered. Still love the board it self but Bataleon customer service is so far below par it’s sad.

amazing snowboard

Since 2008 I've been riding a Bataleon snowboard. Until now I've always been riding a Goliath (I have 2 Goliath snowboards). But this year choosing a new snowboard, I decided to try the Thunder.. Perfect board for any conditions, I had fun with it for a week in the Dolomites and it never let me down. I highly recommend Bataleon Thunder.

Powerful, yet forgiving

Great board. Ended up with thunder after demoing a few Bataleon boards. Shout out to the distribution team from Poland for making this happen. This board allows you to push your boundaries, stiffer flex works great with the 3bt. Needs a bit of getting used to when waxing and scraping, but that goes with all 3bt boards i guess. Quick base. The 3bt saved my ass a few times. Can't wait to take her back on the slopes. 188 cm/90kg/46 EUR - riding 159W and it feels light and nimble.
