We’re all mental

In the crazy world of snowboarding, mental health is a colossal factor that affects every rider, whether they are aware of it or not. It influences everyone’s lives. Mental health impacts those who have endured their battles and those who are currently facing their struggles. It is important to remember that you are not alone in this journey; a helping hand is always within reach, ready to listen and share the weight you carry.

This is where Laura Rogoski stepped up and started something for the world of snowboarding: a safe place to discuss problems that are bringing you down, whether they're related to snowboarding, heartbreak, injuries, or the meaning of life, just to name a few. At the end of the day, "We're All Mental," and we all need a release.

“I felt like there was a void in the snowboard community, and I got tired of waiting for someone to do something about it.”

After a traumatic childhood, Laura struggled with depression and anxiety from a young age. Volunteering for a 90-day intensive outpatient treatment program, she learnt valuable information that she wanted to share with the community; this is where "We're All Mental" was born.

From there, it has grown from strength to strength, with two online international support groups on a weekly basis. Laura is helping snowboarders throughout the world talk about the things that are affecting them. Additionally, she facilitates authentic conversations during her work as a shaper on the Snowboy Tour and at selected Trollhaugen events.

"We’re All Mental is not about me, I just came up with a name and filled out the paperwork. "

"We're All Mental" goes beyond conversations; it has produced two insightful mental health workbooks. These guides are filled with practical tips, advice for navigating challenging situations, and the personal stories of fellow snowboarders who have undergone rehabilitation and witnessed transformative changes in their lives. Each workbook acts as a guide, aiding snowboarders in understanding the complexities of their minds and providing tools to cope with life's unique challenges.

“When I started We’re All Mental, I told myself if it helped just one person, I would keep it going for as long as I could.”

Laura keeps nurturing this amazing part of her life that she has poured her heart and soul into! Her ultimate aspiration is to establish a free mental health support network within the snowboarding community and beyond, aiming to strengthen existing friendships and foster opportunities for new, meaningful connections.
